New sports arena in Tortona
Global Suppliers for the project of “La Cittadella dello Sport” in Tortona, city in the province of Alessandria, the set of this innovative sports center, which includes two gyms, basketball courts, squash courts, a restaurant and creative spaces dedicated to children. Professional Show was asked to develop the entire multimedia infrastructure of the arena, with the aim of making the sporting experience and events even more engaging thanks to cutting-edge technological solutions.
The Project
The sports center needed a robust technological infrastructure to support various types of events, from sports matches to conferences. The requirement included:
- Connectivity for video shooting
- An audio-video direction for the production of internal content
- Digital signage for transit areas
- A conference room for events
- Sound and lighting system for the arena, easily manageable even by external rental companies
GOALS:
- Audience immersion: Making the show more engaging and immersive for viewers.
- Facilitating production: Create an infrastructure that simplifies production and filming for events of various kinds.
- Technical simplification: Eliminate the need for frequent cabling and reconfiguration between events.
Multimedia Solution Proposal
The proposed solution was a hybrid network which integrates various audio-video and lighting systems, using advanced technologies such as NDI (Network Device Interface), Dante, and coaxial connections for the efficient management of all equipment. The video, audio, and lighting signals pass through a dedicated network, controlled by Netgear AV switches, which also allows you to manage computers and other devices via Adder Infinity codecs.
Main features of the solution
- Connectivity: The structure is entirely cabled in fiber optics, with ten wells equipped with fiber, copper, and SMPTE311 camera connections, as well as six wall-boxes for distributed control..
- Direction:The main control room is composed of two consoles for seven operators, with a UNIRIG truss movement system that supports 24 D8+ motors and a total length of 150 meters of truss..
- Audio: An advanced audio system consisting of a Yamaha QL5 mixer, RCF HDL26 speakers and HDL36 subwoofer, Sennheiser EW-DX microphones for complete area coverage.
- Video and Graphics: The internal video production system is based on NDI with the Kiloview codec. Graphics and mapping are managed by two Pixera processors for a total of 12 channels, using a 7x4 meter LED cube, 40-meter LED banners, and 30k lumen Epson projectors for field mapping.
- Digital Signage:Twenty-one 55" and 65" Samsung monitors are positioned in the walk-through areas to provide informational messages, advertising and live streaming of the event, including an 18x2m LED screen above the ticket office.
Press and conference room
50-seat press and conference room it is equipped with a QSC multimedia system, with audio management via HV21 core, amplification distributed in 4 speakers, and projection via two 20k lumen Epson projectors for an 8x3 meter wall projection

The implemented solution guaranteed:
- Long-term management of events, thanks to the centralized network and modular equipment.
- An autonomous internal production that facilitates the creation of content for any type of event, reducing operating costs.
- An optimized user experience for the audience, with a high-level visual and sound experience during events.
- Configuration flexibility for sporting events, conferences, shows and more, with the possibility of remote management and from any connected point of the structure.
This interesting project represented an interesting challenge that we faced withintegrated and advanced technological solutions, creating an high-functional environment for the organization of every type of event. The result is a cutting-edge sport center, which offers an immersive and engaging experience for the audience, while ensuring simple and efficient management for organizers.
