Kings League: the new sports entertainment
The Kings League, the global phenomenon born in Spain that blends football, gaming, and dynamic showmanship, has arrived in Italy, instantly capturing great interest. For a format created for streaming and based on constant, unpredictable interaction, technology is not just a support, but becomes the beating heart of the experience. As a System Integrator, our company was tasked with the design, supply, and commissioning of the stadium's entire technological infrastructure: a high-performance integrated ecosystem of Audio, Video, Lighting, and Networking.
The Project
Creating a "digital-first" sports arena capable of meeting the needs of a high-level streaming production while simultaneously guaranteeing the live impact of an entertainment event. The main challenge was integrating complex systems into a single cohesive infrastructure, ensuring stability and flexibility for a constantly evolving format.
Visual experience: LEDWALL and PROCESSING
We transformed the arena into an immersive visual stage using over 240sqm of LED surfaces:
- Ledwall: Three main sets (Ledshine Tech Wing) including an impressive 90sqm ledwall and a 120-linear-meter perimeter sports system for dynamic graphics and sponsors.
- Signal Management: The video heart beats on Novastar H5 and H2 processors, with full redundancy to guarantee broadcasting continuity.
- Content: Graphic direction is managed by custom Dataton Watchout servers, integrated into a 10GbE network for smooth handling of high-resolution content.
LIGHT DESIGN
To turn every match into a unique event, the marquee required captivating lighting to make the atmosphere electric and adrenaline-filled; we therefore deployed a Prolights fixture fleet, controlled by a Compulite Vibe console:
- Effects and Wash: Astra Beam, Wash, and Profile moving heads to emphasize key game moments and finals.
- Pixel Mapping: StarkBar1000 LED bars with individual pixel control to create luminous scenographies synchronized with the game actions.
- Architectural: Functional and aesthetic lighting for bar areas and common zones using LumiPix and LumiPar.
AUDIO ENGINEERING: Power and Clarity
In a stadium hosting events of this nature, a functional audio system is essential to further enhance the immersiveness and engagement of both the audience on site and the audience watching from home. The sound pressure must therefore coexist with speech intelligibility (commentary and announcements). We chose the elegance and power of K-Array (KGEAR):
- Slim Array: GH12 modules for homogeneous coverage.
- Punch: GS18 subwoofers for deep and engaging low frequencies.
- Processing: GA46 amplification with integrated DSP for millimeter tuning of the system.
The "Nervous System": Infrastructure and Networking
What remains in the shadows but supports the entire ecosystem is a solid infrastructure:
- Networking: Netgear M4300 (PoE+) switches to manage data flows between the control room and devices.
- Cabling: Custom-made pre-assembled power and DMX signal lines to accelerate setup times and ensure reliability.
This experience was inspiring for the entire Professional Show team: giving color and shape to such an innovative and young format was a unique and fun opportunity. The integration of these technologies allowed Kings League Italy to debut with an impeccable production standard, offering the streaming and live audience a visual and audio experience unprecedented in the national sports landscape.
